Reddit AMAs with City Council Candidates in 2016

FAN will be hosting online candidate Q&A forums over the next month on the popular site Reddit.com. Registered users of the site can tune in during the hour of each Candidate’s scheduled AMA Forum (Ask Me Anything) to ask questions or read along as other users post their own.

We hope this provides our FAN members as well as all Austinites an ability to participate in the process and have your questions answered by each candidate across the 5 Districts up for new representation before the November election.

Not all candidates could manage to work these AMAs into their schedules, but we’ve corralled most of the running mates in each district into the time slots shown below. Check back here for links to the live Q&A forum as they begin, or tune in at the times below to: http://www.atxfriends.org/redditama.

FAN has also conducted a questionnaire of the current candidates. The 4 questions asked of each participant, and their answers regarding inclusiveness, affordability and diversity within our neighborhoods can be found here: http://www.atxfriends.org/austin-city-council-candidate-questionnaire/

Check our Facebook Events page or our Community Google Calendar to add the Forums to your preferred calendar.

If you can’t participate at the scheduled times, and would like a specific question asked, be sure to leave a comment below and we’ll submit it to the appropriate District, or all of them if it’s a city-wide issue.

For additional in-person candidate forums, check our community calendar for events sponsored by Austin Technology Council, Glasshouse Policy / The Austin Monitor / KUT, and the Austin Area League of Women Voters. You can also see the links below to view footage of those that have already passed.
